In PTP programme grade 3 to 12 students are provided extra support in academics. Students are monitored by their mentors on a day-to-day basis and parents are regularly updated regarding progress. |

EFFECTIVE CLASSROOM LEARNING PROGRAMME
The Effective Classroom Learning programme, works through a series of pre-reads and post-reads resource materials uploaded in the special program or on Teams and helps students to organize their learning so as to maximize their learning outcomes. IXL, Learning Pods, Academic windows and various other resources enables students to learn effectively. |

ASSESSMENT CLASSES THROUGH TEAM TEACHING |
Assessment Classes uses Team Teaching / Buddy teacher as a innovation in teaching strategy. Two teachers of a subject collectively teach a class in a particular topic / for a particular class / in some subject – with one leading and the second assisting a focussed group of students. It is used for specific subjects where students of a particular class / group requires different teaching method / attention
The responsibility of the team would be to

• Use teachers for Guided and independent Assessment classes |

EXQUISITE MINDS PROGRAM |
EMP aims to ensure that our most able learners are provided the challenge, encouragement and assistance they need to think and work beyond the scope of the curriculum. It also creates additional enrichment opportunities for students to develop and demonstrate their abilities. EMP students are involved in research, by giving additional support and guidance in areas of specific interest as stated by the student and they are involved in a voluntary tutoring program, which indirectly will support their talent and achievement. |

READING PROGRAMME |
DPS Sharjah has a robust Reading Program which serves to encourage reading and life-long learning. The program is attached to the curriculum and is in-line with the vision of UAE. The program has three aspects–Reading for pleasure (through Epic and use of school library) , Reading for information (through Read Theory) and Reading as family-time activity (Quizes and Dear Time). |

MY SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY PROGRAM |
DPS Sharjah has introduced a community service program subsumed under ACE program for students by implementing the motto "Service before Self". This creates a sensitive world community. |

GIFTED AND TALENTED |
The curriculum provides dedicated time and resources for the Gifted and the Talented students. Students are given opportunities to choose Electives which enable them to pursue their passion. These classes focus on specific students to enable more creativity, problem solving, critical thinking and CHAT (Critical, High Order, Analytical, Thinking programs). |

SPECIAL EDUCATIONAL NEEDS AND DISABILITIES (SOD) |
The school is strongly committed to inclusive education across all year groups; this provision includes one in which the teaching, learning, achievements, attitudes and well-being of all the students who gain admission to DPS Sharjah matter – including those identified as having additional needs
Students who need additional support to reach their potential receive intervention on a needs-led basis in line with the DPS Sharjah SEND / SOD policy. In Primary ERC department and in Senior school CHILD department support students to achieve their highest potential. |

SCHOOL COUNSELING CENTER |
School Counseling Center is committed to providing a range of services intended to help students in grades 6 to 12 develop improved coping skills to address their emotional, interpersonal, and academic concerns in school. |
- The following services are offered to students.
- • PERSONAL COUNSELING provides an opportunity for students to address and explore personal concerns. It helps students to resolve concerns that interfere with their personal and academic life.
- • CLASSROOM GUIDANCE is an integral part of the school counseling program. Classroom sessions focus on helping students deal with personal, social and academic concerns.
- • BEHAVIORAL COUNSELING focuses on teaching self-management skills and the subsequent transferring of those skills to students' everyday lives.
