ELECTIVES

Our specifically designed and balanced curriculum supplements core academic subject learning with a variety of elective courses that provide students with a comprehensive educational experience ideal for their holistic development.

By being able to select from a myriad of elective courses, middle school students are provided with a uniquely individualized educational experience that builds upon their academic and social strengths. The course is taught once a week during school hours in a small group environment, therefore maximizing learning and hands-on assistance.

There are no mandatory elective courses as student choice and independence are traits that the school fosters for exceptional learners.

This elective is a great place  for students to unleash their creativity, acquire the appropriate knowledge and skills to present a student led annual musical performance.

Theatre helps  develop verbal and written communication, public speaking, problem solving and teamwork skills. These skills will usher in confidence and help students get rid of stage-fright. The elective comprises of four segments and you can select one of your choice.

ACTING AND SCRIPTWRITING: students will learn the art of telling a story through performance.

SET DESIGN:  This segment will teach students different styles or art forms and how to bring a performance to life with artistically designed props and sets. In addition to this students will contribute to the iCreate program of the school.

MUSIC: Melody is the life of a musical. If students like to sing or compose music  then they  can use their creativity to augment the stage performance manifold with this talent.

This elective has 4 segments  to choose from- Arabic, Hindi, French and German . The focus of this elective is for students to be able to learn the language of their choice. They will develop language skills as well as the cultural competency to communicate in real-life situations. If they are already learning the language in school, this course gives them  an added advantage by accelerating their speaking skills. If they do not know the language they can pick up enough to get around in a place where the language is spoken.

For our sports enthusiasts we have added many more choices of sports to our electives to the electives program. This is a great opportunity for them  to learn something new or hone their talents further in the games and sports of their choice. Students can select from the sports offered for their grade.

This group of electives is  for students who enjoy critical thinking and problem solving using their IT skills. From coding to design thinking ,creating works of art  using 3D printers to turning into Math wizards this elective has 5 segments for them to choose from:

• Design Thinking
• Design Technology
• Robotics (Paid Activity)

GLOBAL LEADERS and Young Economists are the two segments of the leadership elective.  Students will hone their public speaking and debating skills and be able to communicate confidently as a leaders.

YOUNG ECONOMIST- This elective is for students who want to learn how to  make informed, qualified financial decisions and confidently take effective financial action in  future. It will help them expand their knowledge horizon and foster greater financial well-being.

As a financial literacy elective will empower them to effectively fulfill their personal, family and community goals towards greater financial security.
